[gentoo-user] Prelink in /etc/make.conf?

2003-10-23 Thread Mystilleef

Hello Gentoo users,

I understand you can add 'prelink' to your /etc/make.conf file such that
when new packages are merged, they are automatically prelinked.

My question is where exactly do I add this prelink option in
/etc/make.conf? Do I add it to the USE flags, or the feature flags? What
exactly do I need to do. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Regards,

Mystilleef

[gentoo-user] Session management error: Could not open network socket: What does it mean?

2003-09-24 Thread Mystilleef
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hello list,

During compilation of packages, I get the following feedback/error message.

Session management error: Could not open network socket

Although, almost all the packages I seek compile and install are
successfully, regardless of the error message, I still find the message very
bothersome. I'll appreciate it if anyone could explain why I'm getting this
feedback and what I could do to prevent the error. Once again, the error
message doesn't seem to affect the successful compilation and installation of
packages. Error messages during compilation just bother me.

Regards,

Mystilleef

[gentoo-user] Kernel Feature- Systrace Support?

2003-07-13 Thread Mystilleef
Hello Gents,

I apologize for the rather trivial question. There is a feature in the
Linux kernel called Systrace Support. It is found under General
Setup in the kernel menu configuration table. I'd appreciate it
anyone could explain what this feature's functions are, and if I do,
or do not, need it.

I use the gentoo-sources version 2.4.20 revision 5 Linux kernel and
the help dialog for the feature doesn't provided any explanation as
to Systrace Support's benefit or function. Thank you in advance to
for time and assistance.

Regards,

Mystilleef
