[gentoo-user] KDE question - mounted icons on desktop

I have it setup that KDE displays when a CDROM is mounted. It works
fine, but the title of the icon is long and unneccessary.
CD-ROM (cdrom1) mounted at /mnt/auto/cdrw

I would rather have 'CD-ROM (cdrom1)'

Does anyone know how to change this?

if a simple renaming doesn't work (right-click and select rename) then i'd
suggest the following:

  1. remove it from the desktop by going to desktop properties, selecting
behaviour, and unchecking the device in the list.

  2. right click on the desktop and select "create new > cd/dvd rom device".

  3. use the dialog that appears to add your cdrom. you can even change the
icons in there...

There is no 'Rename' when I right-click. I'm using autofs, so the
icon only appears when it is mounted.
