[gentoo-user] Kernel,nvidia-kernel/glx upgrade - doom3 broken
I have just done an emerge -Du on my system (amd64). Everything works fine except doom3 bombs out with: - R_InitOpenGL - Setup X display connection dlopen(libGL.so.1) dlopen(libGL.so.1) idRenderSystem::Shutdown() signal caught: Segmentation fault si_code 1 Was in fatal error shutdown: Unable to initialize OpenGL Trying to exit gracefully.. I have tried LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so.1 doom3 and get: $ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so.1 doom3 ./doom.x86: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory . . . and LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.3.98 doom3 gives me: $ LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.3.98 doom3 /bin/sh: error while loading shared libraries: libdl.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No suchfile or directory There are a few other suggestions on the Forums that look rather radical and I'd like to know whether there is a simple fix before embarking on them. -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
