Of course. As I said, I have a few working personal ebuilds in that dir.
Only OO doesn't work there!
It worked fine for me this morning (aside from a segfault during
compile). I did 'mkdir /usr/local/portage/app-office; cp -a
/usr/portage/app-office/openoffice /usr/local/portage/app-office' and
then modified one of the stock ebuilds.

I am sorry :-( I forgot to say it is the binary version.
Did you try with the last 1.1 openoffice-bin?
I think it's enough to copy it and try ebuild oo_name-bin digest.
You can just change a comment, for ex.
I can not get the digest built!

Paulo,

uncommented?

Yes I did. I also modified a wraper file inside that dir.

[gentoo-user] My ebuild doesn't work!

Hi.

I decided to install the new OO 1.1.
For that I modified the _rc4 ebuild copying and renaming it to
/usr/local/portage.
After changing it, I did
~ebuild cant_remember_fullpath_name digest
but I got a couple of error messages telling the ebuild was not found!
I just moved my modified version to the /usr/portage and I could not
only build the digest but also got a successful install!
Any ideas why this OO ebuild is /usr/portage dir dependent?
It works if it is in the /usr/portage tree but not in the
/usr/local/portage!
BTW, I have several ebuilds under /usr/local/portage working perfectly.

Thanks.
