[gentoo-user] VMware and kernel 2.6.0test8
I installed vmware from portage. I then ran vmware-config.pl. It built the modules fine, gave me no errors. Told me to run vmware so I did. When I do I get the error: VMware Workstation is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured for your running kernel. To (re-)configure it, your system administrator must find and run vmware-config.pl. For more information, please read file INSTALL in the VMware Workstation documentation directory. What gives? The modules load fine in the kernel. Anyone? -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list

Re: [gentoo-user] VMware and kernel 2.6.0test8
Make sure you run /opt/vmware/bin/vmware-config.pl and not vmware-config.pl. Older installs of vmware were a bit careless at some point and there can be old files in /usr/bin that dont match the current install and create this error.
