A Google search on 'config_piix_tuning turns up the answer in the first link: http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0305.3/1463.html Looks like CONFIG_PIIX_TUNING configuration option is partially removed from the kernel. Yeah, but I have a chipset stuck at UDMA2 and it needs that option to allow hdparm to set it to UDMA5.
