Works as expected here. I'm using this version of the package:

gentoolkit-0.3.2-r1

I tested both dist and pkg and it worked fine.

No, I don't use eclean, but you can recreate your packages with quickpkg:

quickpkg $(qlist -ICv | sed 's/^/=/')

I'm no longer using it, actually. The proprietary graphics drivers were
just too much hassle.

I've switched to the open source AMDGPU drivers + proprietary opencl[0]
driver from the above version for my R9 390x. WIth this setup I can
play most of my games at 2160p and still run BOINC for opencl.

I also have Vulkan (RADV) in mesa- from the FireBurn overlay.

Hello list,

For several years I've been running "eclean-pkg -d" and "eclean-dist -d" in a
weekly tidying routine, but recently it removed every single package, leaving
just the directory structure. And I'd just spent six hours building the
packages with emerge -eB too - I wasn't amused.

Can anyone confirm this?

You may want to give /usr/bin/alsamixer a try, which comes with
media-sound/alsa-utils.
See the manpage for sample usage.
man -k alsamixer
alsamixer (1)- soundcard mixer for ALSA soundcard driver, with ncurse...

[gentoo-user] How to Fix Extraoardinarily Loud Alsa?

2016-11-01 Thread Hunter Jozwiak
Hi,

I finally got the base install of Gentoo done, but I've come across a
really interesting probleing. After installing Alsa and enabling its
daemon, I had copied the asound.conf from the distro I was using on to
the system. Unfortunately, this give the side effect that ALSA is
extremely loud (I would guess top volume), and none of the sliders
seem to work. I am using my Intel high definition audio card. Has
anyone come across a similar issue? If so, how did you go about fixing
it?

I’ve just made an arch chroot and downloaded the files of
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/amdgpu-pro/ (makepkg -o after cloning
the git)

I obtain this :

Is that you want?

It's actually still available from AMD. Maybe not actually linked.

Using google, I found a forum-post on ubuntu mentioning it and the following
worked for me:

wget https://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/amdgpu-pro_16.30.3-315407.tar.xz
