[gentoo-user] Chromium user files

2023-04-22 Thread Alan Grimes
AFAIK, chromium uses ~/settings/chromium  There's a lot of stuff in
there so I don't suspect any other directories.

I ask this because even against a BLANK config directory, the damn thing
still emits crash dumps at a rate of hundreds a second, here is a
sample... =\

I don't update kernels that often.  Other than nvidia updating, I don't
have to reinstall them very often.  Maybe I'm lucky on this one???
Still, that buggy driver caused me some grief.  I like to have at least
one option available.  Just going back a version is usually enough,
since it worked before.  ;-)

I had the same problem this morning and performed a manual key update as
per
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Infrastructure/Updating_Expired_Gentoo_Keys

This seems to have fixed things for me.

Of course, as long as I keep a older driver to fall back on, it won't
break anymore.
It will break with kernel and x.org upgrades. NVidia still updates the
legacy drivers from time to time to support new kernel and x.org versions.

Also check you're not running out of space.

From time to time this happens to me as well. Mostly I end up removing
everything in PORTDIR (for me: "/var/db/repos/gentoo") and running
emerge --sync again. My uneducated guess is that something wasn't
removed or copied correctly.
