Re: [gentoo-user] Whoops: 'rm -rf /var'

2005-05-14 Thread Taylor Morrow
Often times var stuff is changing, not necessarily crucial data. I
would reboot & see if everything works. If it does, your fine. If
only certain programs fail, reinstall the programs. If it fails to
boot etc. then you'll probably have to reinstall gentoo.

Re: [gentoo-user] how to delete messages from server in Kmail

2005-05-28 Thread Taylor Morrow
I've used kmail before and it always has deleted it from the server.
You have to choose the option to delete it from the server when
downloaded though.

If you mean that you want to leave it on the server until it is
deleted from kmail, then I don't know. I've never seen this in either
of the others you've mentioned either, though, so...

Re: [gentoo-user] Compile for another computer

2005-05-30 Thread Taylor Morrow
I believe, although I've never done it and don't know much about it,
that there is a way to cross-compile from windows, too. Search for it
on gentoo-wiki.com...

Re: [gentoo-user] Re: Macromedia Flash on AMD64

2005-09-06 Thread Taylor Morrow
actually, IIRC if you try and emerge firefox-bin it will grab all of
the emulation libraries you require, not 100% sure tho because it's
been a while since I did it...

Re: [gentoo-user] Re: Macromedia Flash on AMD64

2005-09-06 Thread Taylor Morrow
GAAA...I need to read over my emails before sending them, I can't
make them sound the way I want, I'm really sorry.

What I meant was:
all you need to emerge is firefox-bin, but im not 100% sure whether
emulation libraries are needed too (if they are, then emerging
firefox-bin will set them up properly, no extra work for you)...

Oh and btw I'm both Perral1 and Taylor Morrow of course...Just
different places I'm sending it from.

Sorry for the screw-ups...
