If you just want a simple solution for your own, do a file with the overlay stuff in it: e.g. http://example.net/Private Portage Overlay some usefull patches and progs and provide it at you webservice : http://www.example.net/private-overlay.xml than edit /etc/layman/layman.cfg locally: overlays : http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/overlays/layman-global.txt http://www.example.net/private-overlay.xml The last thing you need is $ layman -L && layman -a private-overlay . Viola !!
