Hi Peter,
Sure I have CONFIG_TUN.
It used to be working before emerge system and still
works when started manually after the startup sequence is complete.
I probably should rebuild the driver to see if it makes any difference.
ASAP after emerge world comes to a happy end:)

Do you have "Universal TUN/TAP device driver support" (CONFIG_TUN)
enabled in your kernel configuration? It should be a network device in
your kernel configuration:

Device Drivers -->
  Networking support -->
Network device support -->
  <*> Universal TUN/TAP device driver support

You can also build it as a module, and it will be called "tun".
