I've removed this file from /usr/portage/distfiles/ and downloaded new

Hmm, strange. What does the following output:

# grep Blue-1.6.tar.bz2 /usr/portage/media-video/mplayer/Manifest
# wget http://distfiles.gentoo.org/distfiles/Blue-1.6.tar.bz2
# ls -l Blue-1.6.tar.bz
# sha256sum Blue-1.6.tar.bz2

In particular, see if the string printed by sha256sum matches the
string after SHA256 in the Manifest, and that the sizes match. If so,
try moving the archive you just downloaded manually to distfiles.

BTW, I get 225883 bytes for this file, with the SHA256 sum of
394333a50184fc9ea78eba726204a5dbb653a07e30c94d335c52e2a4e1be0568,
which matches the Manifest, although I haven't sync'd in a couple of
days.

Apparently upstream changed the tar ball. Sync again in half an hour or so..

Try again. It was re-digested 3h45m ago [1]. What is odd is that my
local tree which is a few days old has the right digests.

Hmmm.. If you look at the diffs for the previous commits it seems that blubb is
for some reason producing broken digests.. It has been fixed twice today. Once
by lu_zero and once by beandog. So apparently it has nothing to do with
upstream after all...
