Hi Morgan,
the proposal looks ok to me, it just makes me wonder what consequences this
change could have to
code out there that might be using
Catlaog.getDefaultDataStore(WorkspaceInfo workspace),
which is today always returning a non null value (well, unless the
workspace is empty).

Anyone knows if this can cause backwards compatibility issues with some
company specific plugins?
