[Geoserver-users] Geoserver migration

2013-02-24 Thread David Alda Fernandez de Lezea
Hi list,

We are planning to migrate our Geoserver instance from the 2.0.2 version to the
latest release version 2.2.4. I've looking at the documentation and I haven't
found a topic on that type of migration. The closest thing I've found is
http://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/datadirectory/migrating.html#migrating-between-geoserver-2-1-x-and-2-2-x.
Here it says that there have been some changes in the security directory and
I'm a bit worried about that. So my question is... Do I have to migrate
geoserver just changing the version and then pointing it to the new data
directory? Is that enough? Are there some other considerations I must take into
account?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

David Alda Fernández de Lezea

[Geoserver-users] Preview layer shows only missed image icon

2013-02-24 Thread aldo lavin
HI.
I've installed Geoserver on Windows 7. I installed too JDK 7 and have same
result, so I read in a forum that i had to change the version to
jdk-6u37-windows.
I did It but still having same issue... I tried to preview all the layers that
install by default and nothing, blank map.
In fact I clicked on the link to download KML file, and open in Google Earth an
its empty, doesn't show but it appears like a layer on the left panel.
Can you give me some tips?
Thanks in advance --

Re: [Geoserver-users] [bulk]: Re: Geoserver fails to start

2013-02-24 Thread cmaul
Pena,

Stephan was right, in the war file there are only the properties:
layers.properties
service.properties
users.properties

after your install you may have also:
services.properties
rest.properties

The rest is created at the first start of geoserver.
What you can do is to delete (well, better put it out of reach in the temp
directory) everything else in this directory and start geoserver again. The
problem that I do not understand with your installation is that part of the
files seem to be created while others are not.

Cheers

Christian

P.S. That is how my directory tree looks like after deleting everything
apart from the five properties files and a restart.

Re: [Geoserver-users] python scripting hook

2013-02-24 Thread Bessette-Halsema, Dominique E
Hi

i just updated my VM to java1.7, geoserver 2.2.4 and the python scripting hook
from http://gridlock.opengeo.org/geoserver/master/community-latest/

I unzip the contents of the python scripting zip file to my
geoserver/WEB-INF/lib directory and restarted the server.

I see the created scripts/wps folders under my geoserver data dir, and added
the buffer.py file from the example page
http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/community/scripting/hooks.html under
the wps folder and made sure it had the correct permissions.

I do not see the the py:buffer in the WPS get capabilities document
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/ows?service=wps&version=1.0.0&request=GetCapabilities
but I do see it under the WPS Request Builder dropdown which is odd.

When I try to run the wps via the following rest call and when I hit the
py:buffer wps in the dropdown on the WPS builder request page i see the
following error in the geoserver logs:

http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wps?service=WPS&version=1.0.0&request=Execute&identifier=py:buffer&datainputs=geom=POINT%280%200%29@mimetype=application/wkt;distance=10

Heres the buffer.py contents

  outputs={

def run(geom, distance):
  return geom.buffer(distance);

The python scripting app directory works. If I add a hello world app under
data_dir/scripts/apps/hello/main.py and hit it via a rest call I see the
correct output. Although I had to create the apps directory myself the python
scripting hook created a functions directory. So it just seems that its the
wps python scripting function that isnt working.

Do I need to add a geoserver.wps jar to the lib directory under
data_dir/scrip

Hi Mark,

The GeoServer printing plugin is using an old version of Mapfish Print,
from 2010, that didn't support image output formats.

You'd need to update the mapfish print dependency and build the plugin
yourself.
See the patch on https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5095

Hi Andrea

Yes. All my layers and layer groups are having declared srs 4326. Strange
is , i have 5 workspace. WMS capability is getting generated for 4
workspace and one workspace is not coming as posted in the earlier post.
Other workspace also having the layers and providing layers for layer
groups.

Could you help me to understand more.

Hum, version 2.1.4, this should be the line of code:
https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/blob/2.1.4/src/wms/src/main/java/org/geoserver/wms/capabilities/Capabilities_1_3_0_Transformer.java#L1007

It seems you have a layer group that does not have the coordinate reference
system associated to
it that does not have any identifier... which is rather odd.
Are you using any custom CoordinateReferenceSystem in your GeoServer
installation?

Cheers
