Hi Victor,
Gridsets not persisting may be - http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5536 -
it's a windows issue in versions before 2.3.3.

Hi, I encountered 2 issues when trying to get GWC to work. The gridset

Secondly, I get the error below when I was trying to get GWC to work. I have

Re: [Geoserver-users] GeoServer behind a HTTP-Proxy

2013-07-29 Thread cmaul
Hello Rüdiger,

very easy: Admin login ---> Global --> 4th input field is: 'Proxy Base URL'.
Enter your proxy sever and you're done.

It kills your 'Layer Preview' though as the proxy doesn't know about
Openlayers.

In bash[1] and many other unix-like shells, the rules for how things are
interpreted inside of single quotes is much less complicated than for
double. For URLs I would generally not expect to encounter any of the
exceptions, but I think that's the reason that tutorials generally stick to
single-quotes (even if for many authors it turns out to be cargo-culting.)

It's actually not that bad, provided you remember to use double quotes instead
of single quotes (double quotes seem to work cross-platform, not sure why the
tendency is to use single quotes) and to put it all on one line (as you have
surmised). I usually put the payload in a separate file to make the command a

Yeah, we use Python and Requests (http://docs.python-requests.org/en/latest/)
instead of CURL...
You can also try gsconfig.

Hi John,
I would take a look at this section of the latest documentation about GDAL
external plugins:
http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/data/raster/gdal.html#adding-support-for-ecw-and-mrsid-on-windows

Please, let us know if that solves your issues.

- downloaded the 1.1.7 GDAL native libraries (and added to my PATH)

Confirmed my supposition. Curl on windows is a royal pain with multi-line
stuff (as is required here it seems). I keep getting "< was unexpected at
this time". I'll just stick to doing it manually. Much less stress.

[Geoserver-users] Adding lots of GeoTiffs at once

2013-07-29 Thread Jonathan Moules
Hi List,
I have 39 different GeoTiff layers I want to add to GeoServer. They're not
part of a mosaic or pyramid or anything, each is a separate file and needs
to be a separate layer.

Is there an easy way to add them all to GeoServer rather than just manually
slogging through create store -> Publish Layer 39 times?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Re: [Geoserver-users] dbconfig-plugin

2013-07-29 Thread Justin Deoliveira
Hey Dimitri,

Unfortunately this plugin is unmaintained and has actuality been replaced
by the "jdbcconfig" module.

https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/tree/master/src/community/jdbcconfig

You can build it with the standard maven mechanism you would build
geoserver with. Or you can download a nightly build of it.

[Geoserver-users] JP2MrSID not available in data stores

2013-07-29 Thread jdoley
Does anyone have the LizardTech formats working in 2.3.3 that could suggest
what's missing in my configuration?

I've installed: GeoServer latest stable 2.3.3 on Windows 7 Ent, the
associated GDAL plugin, and followed the instructions from the doc:

- downloaded the 1.1.7 GDAL native libraries (and added to my PATH)
- downloaded the 1.1.7 CRS data (and set the location to GDAL_DATA)

but the available WMS data sources do not include either JP2MrSid or MrSID
(other GDAL formats, like NITF, do appear). Within the GDAL native libraries
when I run "gdalinfo --formats" I also do not see these LTI formats although
it looks like the LTI DSDK dlls are included there:

lti_dsdk.dll
lti_lidar_dsdk.dll

I also tried downloading the LTI Raster DSDK from LizardTech and also added
these to the PATH but this made no difference. The only hints from the log
are the messages:

Hi Ian,
None of the extensions linked to from
http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/Stable work. In all instances sourceforge
is giving something like:

The "/GeoServer/2.3.4/geo..trol-flow-plugin.zip" file could not be found or
is not available. Please select another file.

The files themselves do exist though:

How can we tell GeoServer to use the HTTP-Proxy to connect to the internet WMS

Re: [Geoserver-users] [Geoserver-devel] Bug fixing fest, first shift results

2013-07-29 Thread Jonathan Moules
I'd just like to throw out a public thanks for all the devs who did the
bug-fixing fest on Friday (and apparently into the weekend too). I don't
think there's been much about it on the user-list, but basically it was an
event where many of the devs spent the day bug-fixing GeoServer for the
forthcoming 2.4 release.

This little graph neatly shows with the near-vertical green line all the
bugs that were fixed.

So, thanks to all the devs, and hopefully future events will be as
productive and effective!

Re: [Geoserver-users] ELEM_INFO STARTING_OFFSET inconsistent with ORDINATES length

2013-07-29 Thread Jonathan Moules
HI Martin,
I wouldn't know where to start in setting up a debug instance of
GeoServer. Nor can I narrow down exactly what the problem line is based on
that error.

But I can run the SQL query from that file which gives me 327 results.

The data quality seems ok. It doesn't fail Oracle Validation
(SDO_GEOM.VALIDATE_GEOMETRY_WITH_CONTEXT), and it went through some FME
cleaning/validation before loading too.

I've opened a JIRA and attached the results of the SQL query so they can be
tested and hopefully replicate the issue.

Regards,
Jonathan

Hi Victor,
Gridsets not persisting may be -
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5536- it's a windows issue in

2013-07-29 Thread Robin Pradel
The URL
http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/GeoTools+and+GeoServer+release+schedule and
all others under http://geoserver.org cannot be reached:

HTTP 404

:(

Regards,
Robin

P.S. Why are they not cached by google? Is this site configured to disallow
google to cache the content?

[Geoserver-users] gwc

2013-07-29 Thread Victor.Tey
Hi, I encountered 2 issues when trying to get GWC to work. The gridset
EPSG:3857 which I created doesn't persist. I had to recreate it twice after I
restart tomcat. Is there something I have to do to persist it?

Secondly, I get the error below when I was trying to get GWC to work. I have
checked that the style exists and I was able to perform a getMap request with
that style.

I had to update my Geoserver and the Legend started to work fine again. So,
problem solved. I don't know why, but... solved.
