Re: [Geoserver-users] Editing Geofence Admin Rules with REST

2016-08-04 Thread ceibl
I have installed the geofence server plugin and then there are three new
menu-entries in the geoserver web UI, called "GeoFence", "GeoFence Data
Rules" and "GeoFence Admin Rules".
The command you suggested adds a "GeoFence Data Rule". When I log into the
geoserver after adding this rule, I am able to see only layers of the
specified workspace, but I am not able to add new datasets, layers,
group-layers,...
When I add a similar "GeoFence Admin Rule", in the geoserver-geofence admin
rule page (see screenshot) I am able to add layers, datasets,...
And that is what I would like to through rest, a "GeoFence Admin Rule" to be
able to manage all the content of only one specific workspaces.

Thanks in advance!
Christoph

Re: [Geoserver-users] Geofence questions

2016-08-04 Thread ceibl
Thank you, Nuno Oliveira! Now I know how to manage users. I played around
with some url like ".../geoserver/geofence/rest/user/..." which did not
work.

It seems that there are to many different documentations out there and it is
hard to figure out.

Your post helped me a lot!

Re: [Geoserver-users] PNG8 Image format throws ColorIndexer Exception after java native libs are installed

2016-08-04 Thread Ivan Grcic
Hi Andrea,

tnx for the suggestions. I've checked the Mapfish Print v.3.6.0
classes, and I see that they have now also included all jt-* classes.

They are using jt-colorindex-1.0.8.jar, and in Geoserver v2.8 we are
using jt-colorindex-1.0.6.jar, this where the problem is coming from,
not from the JAI classes.

I've just created multiple Tomcat Instances and separated GS and MapFish apps.

Thanks again,
Ivan

[Geoserver-users] Restricting access to Layer Groups in 2.90

2016-08-04 Thread daveg81
Hi,

Is there any way to restrict access (hide) to a layer group for a defined
role?

I have managed to restrict (hide) the layers within this group using the
same role with no problems.

When performing a getcapabilites WMS request from a user who is restricted
to this role; the layers do not show but the layer group does. I can't seem
a find a way to restrict (hide) the layer group.

Could anyone help?

Thanks

Dave

[Geoserver-users] Rendering Transformations

2016-08-04 Thread Paul Wittle
Hello,

Is there a complete list online which tells me which GeoServer WPS functions
can be called from within SLD?

I have also been wondering about the PointStacker as I have a layer with three
categories of points in a single layer. I'm aware the function doesn't have a
group by function and that gs:Query can't be chained so I don't think it is
currently possible but ideally I want to have multiple
entries with the point stacker filtered by category. This would allow me to in
effect render the three categories as separate colours and ensure that the
categories are not grouped together.

This leads me to a general question of preference. I'd be interested to hear if
you think 1) layers should be styled by attribute and filtered (i.e. the three
categories in one layer) or 2) they should be split into views in the database
(or sql_views in GeoServer) and presented as three layers?

Currently our group tend to us the later option but having started with ESRI
products I tended to think the first option was better, after all, three types
of road are all roads so they should be in the roads layer. It seems however
that you are forced down the route of option two here if you want to use
PointStacker.

Best Regards,

Paul

Re: [Geoserver-users] ESRI FileGeoDB

2016-08-04 Thread Ian Turton
There is a possibility (and no higher) that the unsupported OGR plugin (
http://docs.geotools.org/stable/userguide/library/data/ogr.html) might do
it with the right drivers installed. But I don't know if any one ever made
it work at the command line, let alone in GeoServer.

I'd use ogr2ogr to convert it to something else (maybe GeoPackage) and then
import that in to GeoServer - this blog (
http://blog.geomusings.com/2016/06/24/publishing-geopackage-to-geoserver-using-qgis/)
gives a nice example of a work flow.

is this true? I know the FGDB is proprierty sofware and that it may not be

I've attached your sample data and stack trace to
https://osgeo-org.atlassian.net/browse/GEOS-7340 ,
and updated the title.
Don't know when it will be fixed, ROIGeometry needs first to be moved from
JAITools (dead projecto)
to jai-ext, and references to it updated in GeoTools and GeoServer... it's
going to take time (too large of a job to do in spare time).

Re: [Geoserver-users] ImageMosaic don't load

2016-08-04 Thread Andrea Aime
Hi,
thanks, it seems the issue is not platform specific, but I cannot easily
reproduce it using
my local sample data.
It seems it takes a mosaic of DEM or other single band surface, _maybe_ on
the fly reprojection
(what's your projection policy? does it change anything if you set it to
"force declared"?),
using the default "raster" style, and something else that makes the ROI
appear in the computation
chain... do you have footprint enabled? Or maybe you are reprojecting in
the request?

As I suggested on the parallel discussion in stackexchange, can you attach
in the ticket tracker
a small data sample and the request that makes it happen?

Cheers
Andrea

Image Mosaic in GeoServer?
geoserver
I use to geoserver in 2.9 under Windows Server on 2008 64bits. The plugin
GDAL raster is correctly installed, but by wanting to make a mosaic and then
loaded her in a GIS, nothing displays. If I make one raster it is OK (tiff
or dted), but a mosaic not.. even for 2 rasters.

In the log I have the following error: Error rendering coverage one the fast
path ogr.geotools.coverage.processing. CoverageProcessingException:
java.lang. UnsupportedOperationException: Not implemented

Ideas?

I have installed JAI lib and JAI image I/O but it didn't change anything..
