[Geoserver-users] creating street map layer

2018-07-19 Thread Tripple Tee
Hi,

How do I create the street map layer like that of the sample layer TIGER New
York ?

I attempted by going to https://extract.bbbike.org/ and extract the map as
shape file (ESRI), it has a bunch of shape file of: roads, buildings, places,
railways ... but they are all lines and dots without street name or place
names.

Also do you know what’s going on with QGIS and GeoServer plugin ? Which version
of QGIS can work with the old plug in? The reason I ask is I heard that QGIS
can export map to a ingestable version for GeoServer, if this is not true or
achieve the same result as bbbike.org then please disregard this question.

Thanks

Re: [Geoserver-users] Support to VRT - GDAL virtual raster

2018-07-19 Thread Daniele Romagnoli
Dear Luis,
Once you have the proper GDAL libraries available and the related GeoServer
plugin, you should be able to configure a layer on top of VRT.
More info about this, here:

[1]:
http://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/data/raster/gdal.html#gdal-image-formats
[2]:http://docs.geotools.org/stable/userguide/library/coverage/imageio.html

The GeoServer page[1] is indeed missing VRT in the list. I will fix that.
Hope this helps.

Regards,
Daniele

[Geoserver-users] Support to VRT - GDAL virtual raster

2018-07-19 Thread Luís Moreira de Sousa via Geoserver-users
Dear all,

I would like to know what is the level of support to VRT [0] at this stage. It
is still not referenced in the main product pages, nor in the ImageMosaic
plug-in page [1] There are a couple of e-mails about VRT in this list, but date
many years back.

Thank you and regards.

[Geoserver-users] Creating Tiled Layers via Geowebcache REST API (geoserver integrated gwc) return could not find the geoserver Layer

2018-07-19 Thread Steve Omondi
Hi guys,
Has anyone had success Creating CachedLayers via the Geowebcache REST API?

According to the documentation one ought to PUT the layer.xml in to the
layer.

*Curl output is*
ERROR [geoserver.ows] -
org.geoserver.platform.ServiceException: Could not find layer PRIVATE_AERIAL
at
org.geoserver.wms.map.GetMapKvpRequestReader.parseLayers(GetMapKvpRequestReader.java:1150)
at
org.geoserver.wms.map.GetMapKvpRequestReader.read(GetMapKvpRequestReader.java:237)

*The Tile Layer is created but when I try to preview the WMTS of it,
Geoserver Logs tells a different tale.*

ERROR [geoserver.ows] -
org.geoserver.platform.ServiceException: Could not find layer PRIVATE_AERIAL
at
org.geoserver.wms.map.GetMapKvpRequestReader.parseLayers(GetMapKvpRequestReader.java:1150)
at
org.geoserver.wms.map.GetMapKvpRequestReader.read(GetMapKvpRequestReader.java:237)

*Note.* The layer PRIVATE_AERIAL is a global layergroup and it exists and
WMS works fine.
Any help will be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Steve Omondi
