Re: [Geoserver-users] How to configure GeoServer 2.1.4 to use OSMM (Ordinary Survey Mastermap)?

2012-07-04 Thread Andy Berry
We use postgis rather than oracle. Because the mapping is in Mapinfo format we
use Easyloader to upload to postgis.
Did you get it working by down grading to version 2.1.2? If so it looks like a
problem with Windows server introduced by later version os Geoserver

Hi Andy,
Thank you very much for reply.

I have read through your post:
http://osgeo-org.1560.n6.nabble.com/Geoserver-upgrade-td4980458.html

I can log onto our GeoServer server and add & publish new layers now.

By the way, do you have OSMM as your Oracle Spatial data source? I would like
to have a map for Suffolk County Council only via the GeoServer's WMS. Just
like the USA Population OpenLayer in the GeoServer samples, I would like to
have normal map of Suffolk County instead of the population constrain.

Kind regards,

Shang

Subject: [Geoserver-users] How to configure GeoServer 2.1.4 to use OSMM
(Ordinary Survey Mastermap)?

I am new to GeoServer.

Can anyone provide how to configure GeoServer 2.1.4 with OSMM?

We have setup the GeoServer v2.1.4 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server. Our
OSMM is available on our Oracle Spatial server.

Our GeoServer can display the USA Population layer:
• Click Layer Preview on the left hand side
• Choose topp:states – USA Population
• Click OpenLayers towards the right hand side.
• It will open a new window with the USA Population map

By the way, we have installed the following components on the server:
• Java Runtime Environment 6 Update 32
• Java Advanced Imaging 1.1.3
• GeoServer 2.1.4
• geoserver-2.1.4-oracle-plugin

We have setup an *Oracle NG* type store and we have successful connection to
our OSMM. When adding a new store, it displays
New data source
Choose the type of data source you wish to configure

Vector Data Sources
Directory of spatial files (shapefiles) - Takes a directory of shapefiles
and exposes it as a data store
 *Oracle NG* - Oracle Database
Oracle NG (JNDI) - Oracle Database (JNDI)
Oracle NG (OCI) - Oracle Database (OCI)
 PostGIS - PostGIS Database
PostGIS (JNDI) - PostGIS Database (JNDI)
Properties - Allows access to Java Property files containing Feature
information
 Shapefile - ESRI(tm) Shapefiles (*.shp)
 ...

When we try to publish a layer from the store, we can see 33 table names
which are from our OSMM. I have selected a layer (or OSMM table) called
"ROADS" and publish it; I have configured the page:
• Declare SRS as EPSG:27700
• Compute from data
• Compute from native bounds

The layer was not saved when clicking the *Save *button.

*EPSG:27700* is recognised as *EPSG:OSGB 1936 / British National Grid...*
by the GeoServer.

Thanks.

Re: [Geoserver-users] Geoserver upgrade

2012-06-13 Thread Andy Berry
I'm on Windows Server 2008 Standard. I thought it was a layer creation problem
at first, but its strange that I can go to Services/WFS, change the Title and
it saves, but Services/WMS change the title won't save. Installing version
2.1.2 using a war file and everything works again without touching the data.
The only thing I have noticed is that with 2.1.2 the Geoserver service starts
immediately, but with 2.1.3 I have to start the service manually the first time.

I just downloaded 2.1.4 and was able to both modify a style and add a

not sure what's going on in your case.

I see Klaus is on Windows, is Andy on the same?
I am on Linux, that said, I know of people using GeoServer 2.1.3 on
Windows Azure without layer configuration issues...

[Geoserver-users] Geoserver upgrade

2012-06-11 Thread Andy Berry
I am experiencing problems with the upgrading of a test geoserver.
We are running live with Geoserver version 2.1.0. I have made a copy of the
data and installed a second copy of Tomcat on a different port. Installing
Geoserver version 2.1.0, pointing at the copied data works fine.
Upgrading to 2.1.1 works fine, as does upgrading to 2.1.2.
However when I upgrade to version 2.1.3 or 2.1.4 I am unable to edit some areas
of geoserver.
For example I cannot change the default style under edit layer.
If I try to edit any of the WMS service settings such as changing the Title,
this also fails, but I can change the title in the WFS settings.
I am sure its not access rights on the files as all the problems above work
fine on version 2.1.0 to 2.1.2
Please help

[Geoserver-users] Test Geoserver

2012-06-01 Thread Andy Berry
I want to create a test Geoserver so that I can test the newer versions
I have copied the data store to a different location. Installed Geoserver 2.1.0
(same as live version) on a different Apache Tomcat
Set the data directory to the copied data files.
Upgraded the Test Geoserver to 2.1.3
I have left the PostGIS stores pointing to the live PostGIS
Layer preview looks OK
If I try editing an existing layer, by for example by changing to a different
style table, the layer will not save.
I can create new styles though.
I get a similar problem if I try to publish an existing table.
This is the log I get:

The MapInfo color coding scheme is documented here:
http://georezo.net/jparis/MI_Enviro/Colors/color_models.htm#6-1%20R,G,B%20%3C%3E%20RGB

RGB = (65536 * R)  +  (256 * G)  +  B

With this formula, you should be able to get the R, G and B and
transform them to hex.

[Geoserver-users] Watermarks

2011-08-11 Thread Andy Berry

We are using Geoserver 2.1 and have noticed a problem with watermarks set in
WMS Settings. Some of our base layers do not change very often and are cached
using the inbuilt GeowebCache. However we are using overlays that change on an
hourly basis (point data from PostGIS). We have found that the scaling of the
watermarks are handled differently for non cached tiles, compared to cached
ones. If both layers are cashed, we end up with large watermarks, in the same
positions. If both layers are not cached, we end up with smaller watermarks,
again in the same position. Using one layer cached and another not cached,
results in both sizes of watermarks in different positions. Is there a way
around this problem?
