Dear colleagues,
I want to bring to your attention a conference and policy dialogue on “Environmental Governance for Peace in Colombia.” This free, online conference will take place March 18 – 19, 2021 in both Spanish and English (with simultaneous translation). The conference is co-organized by the Environmental Peacebuilding Association, the Environmental Law Institute, the Global Green Growth Institute, Externado University of Colombia, Duke University, and the United Nations Development Programme, with the support of the Swedish Postcode Foundation. This conference builds upon the 1st International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding and ongoing series of webinars on Colombia and peacebuilding ( https://www.environmentalpeacebuilding.org/conferences/road-to-geneva/associated-events/ <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.environmentalpeacebuilding.org/conferences/road-to-geneva/associated-events/__;!!OToaGQ!7Mhg6MlvBSiPC1GXtHByenquKfXt23H2K25sAl3L9emTvch8DBbq6d-BPlsmcdD-YG5n$> ). The conference will examine ways to improve environmental governance to support peace in Colombia. It will consider approaches being innovated in Colombia and potentially other lessons from other conflict-affected countries. We are currently accepting abstracts for presentations and poster sessions for the conference. Participating in this conference would give you a virtual platform to share your work internationally, either through formal presentation and/or smaller poster sessions. We are exploring the possibility of publishing an edited volume with selected papers from the conference. With these opportunities in mind, if you have any ongoing research related to environmental governance and peace in Colombia that you would like to share, please submit your abstract here <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeTxlybovcHuZTrysQcREMxqg2M46hYOZeKkQl62mb2I9lQWg/viewform__;!!OToaGQ!7Mhg6MlvBSiPC1GXtHByenquKfXt23H2K25sAl3L9emTvch8DBbq6d-BPlsmccb4wEPt$> by December 31, 2020. I am happy to answer any questions.
