Subject: Graduate position announcement

Please help me spread the word--I am recruiting two graduate students to start
in Fall of 2018. My research group works on policy design to support innovative
governance approaches in US forest management. Recent projects have
investigated barriers and opportunities for increasing application of
prescribed fire in the West, governance challenges in Alaska in light of
fire-climate interactions, policy design to support collaborative landscape
restoration, and climate change adaptation policy and planning. Next year's
students could work on aspects of climate adaptation approaches in US forest
management or on community-based forest management in fire-adapted ecosystems.
I have 2-3 year funding packages for both positions with some flexibility on
topics. One position would be suitable for a PhD student, and both are
appropriate for MS students.

CSU is in Fort Collins-a great place to live and study natural resources. We
have a diverse and excellent selection of classes from across departments so
students can build a program tailored to their interests. There is an active
group of scholars and students who work on environmental governance, and a
strong graduate student community in our college.

I will be asking all prospective students for a statement of interest, CV, GRE
scores, writing sample, and completion of a grading exercise to assess
potential for teaching assistantships. Students, of course, also will have to
apply to our graduate school, and we can accept students after formal deadline
dates.

I would appreciate any help sharing this message with prospective students.
More information on my work and lab is available at the link in my signature
line.

Many thanks,

Courtney
