Here are a couple of older articles on Wangari Maathai's Green Belt Movement,
and also on the Chipko the tree huggers of Northern India. I would recommend
browsing their respective websites for current material. Maathai won the Nobel
Peace Prize in 2004. Both are living examples of gender and sustainable
development efforts.
