Another download issue.
Another download issue I'm afraid (that's likely user related): I'm tring to download http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04jmx7l/marvellous However get_iplayer fails to find 'marvellous' 'INFO: 0 Matching Programmes' I've also tried: 'get_iplayer http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04jmx7l/marvellous' and 'get_iplayer --pid=b04jmx7l' Both give: 'get_iplayer v2.86, Copyright (C) 2008-2010 Phil Lewis This program comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details use --warranty. Re: Creating divx encoded files
I'm interested in this email chain. I have two (budget) TVs that both have USB ports and will play Xvid files (Divx5) when contained in AVI files fine but will not play mp4s directly. Presently the only way I can watch recordings from get_iplayer is to either convert them to Xvid, burn them onto a DVD and play them on my Philips DVD player (this also has a USB port but will only play mp4s when on a disc) or watch them from my laptop plugged in via SVGA. If there is some way for get-iplayer to save recordings in a format that would be compatible with these TVs it would be beneficial. What exactly does your application require? Recording from http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/festivals/glastonbury/archive/
Apologies if this has already been asked (I've only quickly browsed the archives so could have missed it). Anyway there are quite a few videos on http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/festivals/glastonbury/archive/ that I would like a recording of (i.e. http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/artists/a74b1b7f-71a5-4011-9441-d0b5e4122711) I assume the content is on Iplayer because the videos have the Iplayer logo yet I can't seem to find them with getiplayer (i.e. by searching for glastonbury). I've tried to find the urls for iplayer from the page source but getiplayer doesn't seem to like this i.e: get_iplayer.cmd http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007r6vx; returns INFO: Trying pid: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007r6vx using type: tv INFO Trying to stream pid using type tv INFO: pid not found in tv cache WARNING: No programmes are available for this pid Is using getiplayer to get this content not possible or am I being a llama?
