Try these links:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007707y
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00770cs

They downloaded OK in youtube-dl as .flv files, which were easily
converted to .mp3.

Failed recordings

2016-12-21 Thread SAO
All attempts to record radio or TV using the most recent versions of
get_iplayer.pl have failed. Reverting to the version released on 15
December solves the problem. I'm running the CGI version in Firefox
Portable x64 50.1, under Win7 Pro x64. A sample error message, wrapped by

First thing is I have a custom GiP 2.95 installation
on Windows Vista SP2 x86 and I can't replicate
your issue:

perl get_iplayer-295.pl --type=podcast -f --force

Belated thanks for this tip. I can now update the podcast cache, under
Win7, using this batch file, run from get_iplayer's home directory:

PATH=c:\Program Files (x86)\get_iplayer\perl;c:\Program Files
(x86)\get_iplayer\utils

perl get_iplayer.pl --type=podcast -f --force

in the CLI refreshes the podcast cache and some
minutes ago created a 24.3 MiB sized
"podcast.cache" file within
%USERPROFILE%\.get_iplayer\
while previous cache was backed up to "podcast.cache.old"

Ditto.

But it still fails when run from the GUI.

announcement.

This has made no difference to the podcast refresh problem. It still
produce the same

I have verified that the get_iplayer.pl and get-iplayer on Devuan
Linux are the same source.

podcast refresh works on MacOSX and Linux. Not on Windows 10.

It also fails on Windows 7.

He doesn't mention a system reboot,
perhaps that is why he did not see
any difference.
Either way, what SAO and you (shevek)
have reported appears to be bugged
behaviour (on Win7 and Win Home Server 2011
respectively), at least according to
the release notes, that merits further
investigation.

I did reboot to no effect. Checking the PATH in a command session showed
that the .\utils directory was there. However, I noticed that the PATH
was excessively long because it included several directories for programs
I have never/no longer used. Trimming the path did the trick and all now
works as advertised.

The new Windows installer worked perfectly. However, I'm getting this

Win7:

I tried adding the .\utils directory to the path but it made no difference.

Make sure to uninstall Windows Update KB3035583, and deselect it if
