Hmmm, AFAIK all the functions marked 'U' are missing in script-fu. But 
maybe it has changed?

there's a plug-in called glob that might help:

It's a while since I've used this thing and I vaguely remember
that I've done some changes to it to make it work. If you 
encounter problems, let me know and I'll dig the source out of
my old home directory.
