Re: HP DeskJet 9xx support?
Date: Sat, 18 Mar 2000 13:05:44 -0500 (EST) From: Eddie Maddox [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'm new to GIMP. I also just bought an HP DeskJet 952C printer. All the 9xx models support 2400x1200 resolution and the use of both premium and real photographic paper. The GIMP 1.0.4 print config does not have the HP 900 series listed. So, I found that the 600 series is, for now, the next best to select. But it only has 600x600. Nor does it list photographic paper, only plain and premium. Does HP publish the PCL (Printer Control Language) docs still? Or a Technical Reference Manual? How may I obtain such? (I can't write code, but I write little shell scripts some times.) So, when can we expect the next stable GIMP release with HP DeskJet 9xx support? Eddie, I've forwarded this to [EMAIL PROTECTED], where we're working on the next generation Gimp print plugin. -- Robert Krawitz [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.tiac.net/users/rlk/ Tall Clubs International -- http://www.tall.org/ or 1-888-IM-TALL-2 Member of the League for Programming Freedom -- mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] Project lead for The Gimp Print -- http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net "Linux doesn't dictate how I work, I dictate how Linux works." --Eric Crampton

Are any GIMPers coming to TG00?
I just wondered... Are there any GIMPers coming to The Gathering this year? For those who do not know, TG is a big LAN-party in the Viking Ship, Hamar, Norway, and attracts about 4300 people every year (all networked together with help from Cisco -- 4300 switched 10mbit ports :-) ). I believe it always (unfortunately) takes place about at the same time as Mekka/Symposium -- this year, it's from April 19th to 23rd. I don't think there will be anything special for GIMPers (unless we make something ourselves :-) ), but it could be interesting to meet some of you, in case you're going anyway. For more information, you could check http://www.gathering.org/tg00/ :-) Perhaps we finally could show all those Photoshop people what's _best_, if some of the more experienced GIMPers come... I'm sure I could use something to impress people with, at least :-) /* Steinar */ -- Homepage: http://members.xoom.com/sneeze/
