Re: gDynText 1.5.0 is out!

There are a few bugs regarding the GDynText plug-in listed at the gimp bugtracker. Does this version fix those problems? The broken unit "point" was fixed. The line spacing and aligment "bug" is dued to the values returned by the gimp_text_extents, so it isn't totally my fault. ;) I've tested it for a while and I think that gDynText 1.5.0 is as stable as the 1.4.3 shipped with gimp 1.1.x. ;) Regards, Marco -- //\/\ Marco (LM) Lamberto e-mail:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (remove 'nOsPaMz-') The Sunny Spot - http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/1474/
Re: Color Quantization

SQC (http://www-dbv.cs.uni-bonn.de/quant/) is really the best one available and it is also fast. I have some code for this that I'll upload the next days. It is buggy and written in a bad C style. I think GIMP should use this best available algorithm. I do not find the time to port the code to GIMP. So if anyone is interested, feel free to contact me. We're due to release GIMP 1.2 in the near future. It's a little bit to late to introduce a new quantization algorithm right now. With GIMP 2.0 we'll have the chance to let advanced user choose his preferred algorithm... -- Servus, Daniel
New bugs in mild profusion.
Hi guys and gals, I've noticed a few regressions and general screwups in current CVS GIMP with just cursory testing. Two immediately noticable ones are: 1) moving a layer with the move tool is broken, no longer tracks pointer after first 'settle' of motion. 2) ctrl-q to quit brings up the 'something modified, really quit?' dialog but the 'okay' button then makes the dialog vanish but GIMP doesn't quit. The 'quit' menu entry gets greyed-out and, well, you can't quit. Admittedly, no-one should want to quit GIMP anyway. --Adam -- Adam D.
