I hacked up a quick patch to change that to: 1. Last export on this file 2. Last export on any file 3. Import type 4. png its a tiny patch and man did that make my life nicer. http://to.who.ee/0001-app-Add-import-type-as-third-preference-on-Export.patch - link to the pack. its very easy for those who build git to maintain their own miniforks ;) -- --Alexia ___ gimp-developer-list mailing list gimp-developer-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-developer-list
[Gimp-developer] Fwd: Re: RFE: single window mode: always show tab
Hello, I'm really only a user in gimp. Find it a very useful tool. Being a developer for other types of software I really appreciate all the work done - thanks developers. A possible improvement would be with the top dialogue being hidden and popping out when one move the cursor into say the top left corner? Just a suggestion. Cheers, Ronald This is indeed a problem when working with images on the widescreen monitors. For me those few pixels are more useful than non-flickering window, especially because current tabs are big :) +1 This is something I've been mulling over in general for a long time. Monitors used to be near square, but now they are all MUCH wider than they are high. Somehow we need to use less valuable vertical space and more horizontal space for UI elements. The problem comes in when you have text involved. While you COULD have tabs down the side with the text rotated appropriately, people wouldn't like it. They like to read normally. H. You can hide the menu bar, thanks to Image: Edit - Preferences. And you can access any of its entries with a right-click in the Image window. USA likes text to read from top to bottom, Europe likes text to read from bottom to top. Just look at the spines of books in your library. The spines of books are more a matter of usability than prefered reading direction: A book which lies face down on a table and has a European spine can still be identified while the American version is printed upside down.
