[Gimp-developer] Adobe ACT palettes import
Hello everybody, I wrote a small (and rather trivial) plugin that enables GIMP to import and export Adobe Color Tables .ACT-palette files. If there exists interest for that, I would 'port' into a patch to merge the code directly into the GIMP branch as it is not a "classic" image manipulation plugin but extends the format compatibility of GIMP. [Gimp-developer] OS X Build Server (VM)
Hi everybody, when I read the "[Gimp-user] Looking back at 2013"-thread on the Mailing Lists Archive page, I stumbled upon the remark, that there is a need for a OS X Server to provide Mac builds of GIMP. I do have a OS X Server running and could provide one or more VMs running OS X (I could offer almost any Version from 10.5 SL onwards including 10.9 Maverick). If there is still a need for such VMs and this offer sounds interesting for this purpose, don't hesitate to contact me via this email-address. [Gimp-developer] (Future) Implementations of Gimp Color Palettes
I today received some Photoshop Files including Photoshop Color Palettes (aka Color Swatches). When I looked into the structure of these Files, I came up with the idea to write a GIMP Import/Export Plugin to read these files directly into GIMP. These Photoshop Palette Files store Colors in many arbitrary Color Models (mostly CMYK, though). However, as far as I can see, GIMP stores Colors in Palettes only as 24-Bit RGB values. I therefore assume this still is a remainder of the pre-babl/pre-gegl era of GIMP. A quick search within the Archives of the Mailing List and the Roadmap didn't give me any clues about how Color Palettes in future GIMP versions are planned to be implemented. Are there any documents, plans, thoughts or ideas available on this topic yet?
