Gimp does not provide this facility. (For that matter, neither
does Adobe Photoshop or most office programs.) Use whatever file
management methods your OS provides to delete unneeded files.

No

I think not.

I see no reason. Gimp is a graphic editor, not a file utility. In
openSUSE you have konqueror, mc, krusader, and any number of other
graphical choices to use beside most capable, the command line.

If you wish to create a work flow with that capability and utilize the
gimp, set gimp as the default graphic editor for konqueror and work
from konqueror instead of gimp.

gud luk,

[Gimp-user] delete a file

2007-01-06 Thread Helen

Hi,
Is there a way to delete or rename a file in Gimp? I know I can save
with a different name, but then I have two copies.

If not, is this an oversight? Will it be corrected?

Thanks,
Helen, using Gimp 2.2.10 on SuSE 10.2

[Gimp-user] usage of gimp-tipps for my website

2007-01-06 Thread Bernhard Stockmann
Hi!

Is it allowed tu use tips out of gimp (from tips.xml) on my website? And
if this is allowed under what circumstances - do I need to place any
copyright note there? Is it enough to place this information in the
impressum or in the bottomline of the website (where all the other
copyright information is displayed)?

Thanks in advance,

I have gimp 2.3.13 and Ufraw 0.10 - they both work fine for me. I suspect
your problem may be installing the dev. version in the "default" location.
If you have Gimp2.2 also installed this could cause problems. I'd suggest
following the recommendation at:

http://gimp.org/release-notes/gimp-2.3.html

You install the new version into a separate prefix, say /opt/gimp-2.3 by
passing --prefix=/opt/gimp-2.3 to the configure script.

I then set the following prior to compiling ufraw:
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=:/opt/gimp-2.3/lib/pkgconfig/:/opt/gimp-2.3
/lib/pkgconfig/

[Gimp-user] colour management and profile

2007-01-06 Thread bogolisk

Please help the newbie here!

How does one use the different profile options:

I have

- the samsung LCD monitor profile (.icm) file (not sure if it's usable
  by gimp)

- the Costco lab icc profile (.icc) file

Gimp ask me (in Edit->Preferences->Colour Management) for:

- RGB profile
- CMKY profile
- Monitor profile
- Print simulation profile

Right now:

- I set gimp in "Print Simulation mode"
- use the .icm file for Monitor profile (not sure it doesn't anything)
- use the Costco lab icc profile for the other options (RGB profile,
  CMKY profile, Print simulation profile)

What are the correct settings?

Thanx

[Gimp-user] Gimp 2.3.13 & UFRaw 0.10

2007-01-06 Thread Stuart Grimshaw
Has anyone managed to install the above 2 things such that Gimp will
open RAW photos?

I've had it working with Gimp 2.2 & the latest UFRaw, but the latest
dev Gimp release & UFRaw don't work together.

I've tried on the UFRaw discussion forums with no reply, so I thought
I'd try here too.

Both apps are installed in their default locations, default paths for libs etc.
