Try saving it as .xcf first, and possibly changing the image mode to 'indexed' before saving the GIF - maybe you can fine-tune the indexing. PNG is a good replacemnt for GIF, btw - it will also be more accurate. Chris PS - if you want to send me the PSD off-list I will take a look. ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

[Gimp-user] Inaccurate Font Color After Export (psd -> gif)
Hi, I have a psd image button created with GIMP. It has blue background and white font (R=255, G=255, B=255) However, I need it in GIF. After doing an export to GIF, the font color is a bit different from the original. It's now (R=247, G=253, B=255). Is there anyway that I can preserve the original font color? Please advise. [Gimp-user] express keys and touch strip on Intuos 3 tablet: do they work?
Hi, are the express keys and the touch strip of an Intuos 3 tablet supposed to work in gimp? I can see the keys and the touch strip delivering events with both "xidump pad" and "xinput test pad". In the gimp stylus and eraser work fine. In the "configure extended input devices" dialog I set all 32 keys to Shift+Ctrl+r both for device pad and stylus. When I press one of the express buttons the cursor in the device status dialog jumps to pad, but nothing else happens. I use linux 2.6.18-4 from debian etch together with the wacom modules that are in etch, probably version 0.7.4.1-5. I observe the same with gimp 2.2.13 and 2.3.14.
