Looks like you also need to update GLib and GTK+. The GIMP package has
been compiled against newer versions. Actually a package problems since
the RPM should have had a dependency on the newer versions then...

[Gimp-user] gimp: symbol lookup error: gimp: undefined symbol: g_once_init_enter_impl

2007-10-23 Thread keeperofthetux
hi list,

I have just registered due to the fact, that my version of gimp is not
working.

Until today I was using the v2.2 of gimp. Tonight I downloaded the
2.4-rc3-unstable rpm from the SuSE repo.

After I uninstalled the old version, I had no problems during the
installation of the 2.4-rc3 rpm. After the installation, when I tried to
start gimp

gimp: symbol lookup error: gimp: undefined symbol:
g_once_init_enter_impl

Thats all of error msg I get.

Does anybody know why???

I'm looking forward to your answer.

thx,
with kind regards,

keeper of the tux

once you have Colour management enabled in preferences with the right
profile for CMYK output, and activating the simulation on screen it
would be good.

You could do a Soft Proof in GIMP 2.2 already. It only has become a lot
simpler in 2.4 and it now also optionally marks out-of-gamut colors.

Understood. But isn't there a recent feature that allows one to preview in the
restricted gamut of cmyk? I forget what it is called.

There are no enhanced CMYK capabilities in GIMP 2.4. Working in CMYK
colorspace is still not supported.

Is there a good document such as a wiki article that describes the enhanced
