[Gimp-user] xinerama and wacom
Greetings. This problem seems to be well known but still not fixed. http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1916305forum_id=236872 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66813 So once again. I have true xinerama setup with three heads and with different resolutions (1024x768+0+282, 1680x1050+1024+0, 1024x768+2704+282). I can't use twinview because of I'm using two video cards. I'm using $ xsetwacom set stylus Screen_No 0|1|2 as keyboard shortcuts to map tablet to one of the screen. I have no problems with X's pointer and with non GTK applications such as blender and pencil (both with pressure sensitivity). But in all GTK applications (gimp, inkscape and mypaint) in screen mode cursor have offset. Seems GTK maps my tablet to whole virtual screen (3728x1050). Moreover using tablet in screen mode periodically makes my wacom driver hang. My cursor stops and then I can't kill X server and can't switch to console. I have to use window mode and keep gimp and inkscape windows fullscreen. I still have offset. But it works anyway. So why GTK uses this strange way to get pointer's position and doesn't uses core pointer's coordinates as blender or QT? - my system: gentoo amd64 linuxwacom-0.8.0_p3-r1 xorg-server-1.3.0.0-r6 gtk+-2.12.11 gimp-2.4.7 inkscape-0.46-r5 xorg.conf in attach - Thank you. -- Птн Ноя 14 14:05:07 KRAT 2008 Fri Nov 14 07:05:07 UTC 2008 -- Visit my home page http://akhilman.blogspot.com/ -- jabber: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Пытаться сделать мир на 1/6.7e9 лучше Ахметгалеев Ильдар aka AkhIL -- Linux artstation 2.6.27-gentoo-r2 #1 SMP Mon Nov 10 09:54:52 KRAT 2008 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) 9550 Quad-Core Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux up 23:13, 1 user, load average: 1.05, 0.57, 0.27 xorg.conf Description: Binary data ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
Re: [Gimp-user] How to specify printer color profile
What flavor/version of Linux are you using? On Fri, Nov 14, 2008 at 12:39 PM, Marco Presi [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi all, reading at the Gimp documentation, I found how to apply soft proof, so that I can preview the printed image. Now, supposing I have a valid printer profile, how do I specify to use a specific profile? when printing? Both the gnome print interface, and the gimp-print interface don't allow me to specify a printer profile (and the rendering intent). I am using Gimp 2.6.2. [Gimp-user] sky question
Hello, First time poster here. Just curious about how to change sky-colors like you see in a lot of professional photographs. For example, on this site: http://www.novascotiaphotos.com/ ...the banner at the top has purple sky, and there are several photos in the gallery with different sky-colors. What's the best way to go about doing this using the GIMP? I've been doing some googling, but I'm probably using incorrect search terms since I haven't really found anything helpful (yet). Any replies are appreciated! Regards, Joel ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

Ken Rockwell explains: Most people never see colors like this because they live indoors, work in an office, drive to and from work, and live in a house. These colors happen outdoors in nature. The peak color, which are the shots I show, only exists for 60 seconds at most, if it happens at all, any given day http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/color.htm For changing colors using gimp, you can play with the various commands in the color section, e.g. Hue-Saturation greetings, peter related: http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/timing.htm ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

For example, on this site: as already someone replied, at sunset and sunrise the sky colors are wonderful. You might achieve nice results also by using a polarizer (if you can attach it to your camera): it really makes the difference If you want to artificially change the colors, I think the best way to do it, is to do it in a selective manner: 1) duplicate the layer of the original photo 2) change the color of the duplicate layer by using the color balance tool to reach the sky tonality you want (don't pay attention to want happens to the rest of the photo) 3) apply a layer mask to the modified layer (hiding all the modified layer) 4) select a brush with proper dimensions and draw with it over the layer mask: this will reveal the modified layer. If you draw only over the sky region, you will obtain the sky with your colors, while keeping the rest of the image with original colors. You can play with different brushes and different brush settings (I found the opacity setting very useful) and see how to get the best results Hope this helps Marco ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
