One common cause of this is that you have large amounts of data, try starting with an empty GIMP2_DIRECTORY. / Martin -- My GIMP Blog: http://www.chromecode.com/ "Reducing UI clutter, docking bars removed" ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

Use the foreground select tool. Once you make the selection, fill it with black or any color you want. See http://docs.gimp.org/2.6/en/gimp-tool-foreground-select.html However the lasso tool might be an easier way, quickmask the selection to make final adjustments on it. [Gimp-user] Outline people in photos
Hi all, I am a newcomer to GIMP and am just getting to grips with it However I would be grateful if someone can help.I have a family photograph from my wifes grandmothers wedding which I have scanned. I am wanting to make an outline drawing of the people in the photo and adding a letter or number in the outlines so I can identify the people in the photo, much like they do in newspapers to identify people in a large group photo.
