No, you can't select multiple layers. I'm suggesting that there should be a way to do so (and delete them). Re: [Gimp-user] Deleting multiple layers
The ability to select multiple layers opens a rather large can of worms. What happens when you paint with several layers selected? Then Gimp simply doesn't allow you to paint (because it doesn't know which layer you want). Simple. If you have so many layers than it's has become tedious to delete them one by one, is it because you created them by hand Correct. Because it simply isn't scriptable. There is no way to multiselect so there is no way to delete multi selected layers. Re: [Gimp-user] Deleting multiple layers
I know nothing about code. However, I am happy to contribute ideas (like I just have) for future releases, scripts, etc. Unless, of course, only those in the know are permitted to do such things. (That was a joke ... before some uptight developers get even more edgy.) Where can I submit this idea, officially? [Gimp-user] Wacom zoom strip and buttons
Been working on Gimp for over a month (after working on Photoshop for a decade) and can say that Gimp is very underrated. Adobe can learn a lot from Gimp. Like picking up the Wacom tablet with ease. One thing, however, that I find very confusing is how to map the Wacom buttons and zoom-strip to the top left (not top right, because I'm right-handed). I've read everything on the Ubuntu Forums and still struggle to figure out what's going on. Firstly, Gimp sees my Wacom Intuous fine. If I press the buttons alongside the zoom-strip, then I can see the cursor changing. But I'd like to map those buttons to different commands. Also, the zoom-strip seems to move the viewing window; I want it to zoom, depending on how I slide my finger. Where / how do I do this? Is there an easy to follow way? ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
[Gimp-user] Deleting multiple layers
If I select multiple layers (by, say, ctrl-clicking), I should have the option to drag all of them into the bin. Unless I've missed it somewhere, is there is a script enabling the deletion of multiple layers? None that I know of. Depends on the ratio of layers to delete / layers to keep. If only one or two to keep, make them non-visible then merge all visible layers then you only have one layer to delete. -- rich (via gimpusers.com) ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
Re: [Gimp-user] Deleting multiple layers
Actually, using the script that merges linked layers, I suppose the user can simply link-and-merge the layers he wants deleted, then deleting the merged layer.
