[Gimp-user] How are parasites represented in Script-Fu?
Hi Currently, what type of data should be used to enter a parasite as a parameter within those Script-fu procedures that handle such an object? By chance, can you give me any examples? In order to figure it out, I have done several tests through the TinyScheme Console, from time to time using lists, vectors or strings, but none of them seems to fit. [Gimp-user] Linux distros with GIMP 2.6.10 preinstalled?
Hi. Among the major Linux distros available on Live CD, where can I find the latest stable version of GIMP pre-installed? I have already tried the most recent releases of both Ubuntu and Fedora, but to my great surprise neither of them has got GIMP pre-installed. [Gimp-user] Rigor/Relax Floating Selections
Hi. I have some difficulty in understanding the meaning of two Script-Fu procedures involving the floating selections; it's a matter of “gimp-floating-sel-relax” and “gimp-floating-sel-rigor”. Unfortunately, the corresponding descriptions inside the Script-Fu Procedure Browser just repeat the sentences implied in their names, without giving further explanations or examples. Though I’ve repeatedly tried to run interactively these commands through the Script-Fu Console, I haven't been able to detect what changes would be made in any floating selection by invoking the aforesaid procedures, since such layer, in both cases, seems to remain identical. So, how do “gimp-floating-sel-relax” and “gimp-floating-sel-rigor” work? What is their effect? Thanks in advance. ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
Re: [Gimp-user] Quick copy-pasting between Inkscape and GIMP
Hi. I understand that this could just as well have been posted on the Inkscape mailing list (if there is any) but I'm only a subscriber to this one, so here goes nothing. I'm looking for a faster way to copy-paste things from Inkscape into GIMP. My current procedure involves exporting the drawing from Inkscape to PNG, then opening the PNG in GIMP and copy-pasting it into the image I want to have it in. Is there any faster way? I've just noticed that, when you paste into GIMP any shape copied from Inkscape, such object is appended as new path rather than as new layer, and there seems to be no other possibility. However, once you exported an Inkscape object as a PNG file, a faster way to import this into a GIMP image is to select the special command ' File - Open as Layers ' , through which you will be able to insert the PNG file as new layer along with its handy transparent background. Otherwise, you might try to use an intermediate application between Inkscape and GIMP, like Paint for Windows, that may recognize and paste any Inkscape clipboard as a raster object, that you will afterward copy and paste into GIMP as real layer; unfortunately, this way the transparent background could be lost. ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

[Gimp-user] Behaviour of gimp-layer-create-mask with channels
Hi. I need some clarification on how the Script-Fu procedure gimp-layer-create-mask acts with channels. Supposing that the current image holds more than one channel, whether I wanted to call such procedure with its second argument mask-type set to ADD-CHANNEL-MASK (6) , how would the Script-Fu interpreter understand which channel to consider? Or rather, with what additional command should I specify the chosen channel? ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
