RE: [Gimp-user] text that follows a path

2002-12-12 Thread Walker, Sam
You might try the curve bend plugin.
IMAGE-Filters-Distorts-CurveBend
It works on any type of image, so you'd have to create an image with the
text then bend it to the path you want.

Hope this helps,
Sam

How can I make a string of text follow a path? Is there a plugin to do
this, or can I use some render filter or what?

Basically I've got a string of text I want it to follow a wiggly line.
The closest I've seen is the text-circle plugin

Cheers,

There's a good tutorial for creating round corners at http://gug.sunsite.dk

what is the preferred, easiest or fastest way to draw a rounded
rectangle in gimp - i am currently using version 1.3.9 if that matters.

i don't want smooth edges (like smooth selection), but the corners have
to be rounded, because i need to create some rounded widgets.

thanks

RE: [Gimp-user] Masks, layers...etc...

Each
layer should have an opacity setting, it is set using the sliding bar located in
the "Layer, Channels Paths" dialog.

I have been trying to make a sci-fi ship

I find that layers do not have an opacity
setting and masks do, but masks can only be black and white...

how would i make it color?

Thanks

RE: [Gimp-user] text bleeding problem

2002-08-16 Thread Walker, Sam

It would help to provide a link to the actual picture.

Maybe it has to do with the format the image was saved in.
Depending on what the colors are, jpeg compression can cause anomalies that
could be described as bleeding of the image. But these are usually visible
on a monitor too.
Other compression algorithms could do the same.

You could try...saving in a non-compressing format (but start with the
original, once compressed it can't be undone) and try printing again.

Sam

When using the text tool, creating an image with the gimp...the image
looks fine on the screen; however when I print the image there appears
to be a bleeding around the actual image. Has anyone had this problem
and if so do you know any solutions to correcting it. Thanks
AJ

RE: [Gimp-user] Border around image.

2002-06-18 Thread Walker, Sam

There is a Script-Fu plugin under Image-Decor-Add Border. A dialog will
ask the border width (x and y), color, and is does a beveling effect if you
specify a Delta Value on Color 1.

I want to put a black border around a (mostly white) image so that it will
stand out on a white web page. Any suggestions?

I tried the shif/click method of creating a straight line with pencil but it

didn't seem to work for me. Can someone walk me through it step by step?

Thanks

[Gimp-user] photo straightener

2002-03-19 Thread Walker, Sam

I'm looking for a script/plug-in that will straighten a photo.
For example, when I scan a photo and I don't get quite square, so I end up
with some white triangles around the corners.
This seems simple enough and I'm sure something exists to do it, but I can't
find it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sam
