[Gimp-user] gimp-print

2003-03-29 Thread Bob Lockie
I decided to upgrade gimp because I was having problems with CUPS.
It's not obvious that 4.3.x is development. :-(
I was trying gimp-print-4.3.12
The documentation for gimp-print saysthat EPSON Stylus C62 is Fully
Operational but none of the "Epson C#*" are in the selection list.

I put the GIMP 1.2.3 and GIMP-print 4.2.5 (release versions).
1) I have no "new" printer button.
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/p_Screenshot.php3
2) The only supported file format in my version of the GIMP is "XCF (GIMP)".

3) What should I select for the Printer Model in Printer Setup for an
Epson Stylus C62?

[Gimp-user] Gimp print

2005-06-30 Thread Gary Montalbine
I have installed gimp 2.2.7 on Mandriva 2005LE. Gimp works fine except I
do not have a print capability. I tried to install gimpprint 4.2.7 rpm
however it wants libgimp 1.2.so. Print worked OK with an earlier 2.2
version of gimp and ML 10.1. I see there is now a gutenprint. Should I
try to to configure gimpprint from source?

Comments appreciated.

Thanks,

[Gimp-user] gimp print help?

2006-09-07 Thread Helen
In my attempt to set up Gimp so I could print from Gimp, I have messed up my printer and made things worse.  Now nothing will print.  Printingworked just fine until I tried to improve it.
I'm using SuSE 10 on Linux, Gimp 2.2.10. HP Deskjet printer 5550 I downloaded gutenprint-5.0.0.tar.bz2 from sourceforge. In Yast, I now have 3 PPD files showing for my Deskjet5550.
 They are HPDeskJet5550 Foomatic/hpijs (recommended)(manufacturer-PPDs/hplip/HP-Deskjet_5550-hpijs.ppd.gz) 2nd one is HP Deskjet 5550 Foomatic/hpijs (recommended) (HP-Deskjet_5550-hpijs.ppd)
3rd is HP Deskjet 5550 Foomatic/gimp-print (recommended) (HJP/Deskjet_5550-gimp-print.ppd.gz) None will print.Print commands are going to the print queue. When I use command line I get:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Documents> lp test.txt request id is deskjet5550-27 (1 file(s)) [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/Documents> I've disconnected my printer and rebooted with no printer attached, thenreinstalled my deskjet and rebooted.  Still nothing will print.
I can see that cups is running. I don't know where to go from here. Can anyone help? Helen

[Gimp-user] Gimp-print border

2004-10-17 Thread Gary Montalbine
I am using gimp 2.0.4 with gimp-print 4.2. Mandrake 10.1 with an
hpdeskjet 5550.

Off and on for the past year I have tried to figure out how to
change the default margins in gimp-print. I have searched, googled
read the archives and have not found a way to change the default
margins. I particulary find the .5 left margin troublesome. I have
the latest HP driver installed.

I hope there is an easy solution. I have lots of pictures with
uneven borders.

Thanks

You may want to ask the gimp-print list. Although it appears your RPM
is the wrong one - it's a RPM intended for a 1.2 version of The GIMP.
That's ancient. Is that the only 4.2.7 RPM you can find for your
system?

I installed gutenprint 5.0 from Mandriva cooker and I am now able to print.

After you downloaded the gutenprint tar file did you tar it and then compile
it? If you did you follow the steps in the INSTALL or README files about
rebuilding the PPD files for CUPS.

Then you probably need to log on to the CUPS Page with your
browser(http://localhost:631/admin) and create the printer. You will need to
be the cups admin. You can use the lppasswd command to setup a admin ID if
your root.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

2.2.10) ?  I think it might be easier to updateto a later version of gimp, than to figure out what has gone wrong here.I relly need to print, but since installing gutenprint, I cannot print anything, even from the hpdeskjet ppd.
I would appreciate any ideas as to how I should proceed.I don't know how to get into cups admin mode, and it might not be a safe thing to do anyway,Helen

Hi,

you might have more luck if you asked this on a gutenprint list. The
plug-in you are using is not developed or maintained by the people who
develop GIMP. Have you had a look at gutenprint.org?

[Gimp-user] Gimp Print: Windows and Linux

2007-06-20 Thread DJ
Hi,

I created an xcf file that I use as a template to create DVD covers.
It works great when I print from GIMP under windows.

When I print from GIMP under Linux everything is smaller - the
Courier Font and the rectangle.

I looked under Image->Print Size and it's the same.

I tried some of the print setup options for Gimp under Linux, but
nothing seems to change.

Any thoughts?

[Gimp-user] gimp-print for gimp 2.0

2004-03-30 Thread Elaine Normandy
What is the status of gimp-print for gimp 2.0? I went to sourceforge,
and couldn't find any information about plans to support the new release.

Right now, of the software installed on my box, Konqueror seems to be
the best bet since it allows me to easily select either my color printer
or the default b&w laser printer. OpenOffice also works well, but I
would really like to be able to use gimp-print so I don't have to load a
separate application.

GIMP-2.0.0 depends on Gimp-Print-4.2.x to be installed for the print
plug-in to be compiled.
