Re: Can't run gimp-1.1.25 or better
Sounds like you need to delete the ~/.gimp-1.1 directory and then restart gimp. Also, remember that it is always good to kill all things gimp from the file system before compiling and installing new versions. This prevents library compatibility problems which can prevent future compilations of Gimp from running. On Friday 03 November 2000 12:54, Jeff Trefftzs wrote: > Please help! Can't run gimp-1.1.25 or better
Please help! Starting with gimp-1.1.25, and repeatable on 1.1.27, 1.1.28, etc. I cannot get the gimp to run. The configure, and make work fine, but when I start the gimp I get as far as displaying the toolbox and the levels and channels box, and then the gimp exits with the following message: LibGimp-ERROR **: could not find handler for message: 12 aborting... ** WARNING **: script-fu: wire_read: unexpected EOF I have gtk+-1.2.8, also the latest gdk libs. Should I be using gtk+-1.3, or what? All the gimps up through 1.1.24 compile and run just fine, but 1.1.25 onward give me the startup failure. Please -- does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this? System is basically RH 6.1, with the helix gnome 1.2. Thanks in advance - --Jeff Trefftzs
mailing list setup
I am finding the spam coming through the list rather annoying and there have been several threads discussing it previously. I wonder why the list is not changed so that only subscribers can post?? Anyone who has a legitimate question should not have a problem subscribing. (If they don't want to be subscribed in the long run, they can always wait til their question is answered and then unsubscribe.) I think this would reduce the number of random non-gimp related messages and I hope someone running the list seriously considers changing the set-up. sprites
OK... Im looking for some advice on how to create sprite images for a small side scrolling game. Running GIMP 1.1 and need a simple way to make a bunch of little images of the same exact size but in slightly different positions. lol I use GIMP for mainly art and just cant figure out exactly what to do .
