Re: special characters?

1999-12-11 Thread alex

Try put 'keycode 0x42 = Mode_switch' into your .xmodmap file, then run
'xmodmap .xmodmap'. Now when you press Caps Lock simultaneously with another
key, you get a special char. This diasbles Caps Loack, by the way. To use a
different key, use 'xev' to find a keycode.

I'll check this out, though I did realize how to do it some time after I
sent my previous message - use emacs to get the character, then copy &
paste. Voila. It works.

I'll try to help.

I think you just need a font with the special characters. Try looking
here and see if they have one:

Good luck!

You can just copy-paste them in.

special characters?

1999-11-29 Thread Erunantion

Well, this being my first message to the list, I wonder how the response
time and daily load are, but

To the problem - is there any way to type special characters using the
text tool (or any other tool/filter/script-fu)? Special characters being
those not included in the regular ascii set (such as the n with the ~ over
it, a with ' over it, etc.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
