No fooling around getting drivers, etc. I have been running Gimp on different versions of Linux. That might be why I did not have too fool around hunting down and installing drivers. On 2.6.8, (Ubuntu 10.04)I can scan: File - Create - XSane - Device dialog On earlier Gimp versions it was: File - Acquire - XSane - Device dialog It might be a matter of semantics as to whether or not Gimp does the scanning, but I have always been able to start a scan w/SCSI from Gimps File Menu. In the case of xsane, IIRC you need to make the binary available to gimp, eg via a link in the plugins directory. That will allow you to scan 'from' Gimp. Sorry to be so vague. Xsane works fine for this, I've used it many times. But first you need to get the scanner setup under Ubuntu (xsane doesn't load scanner drivers for you). Good luck finding the proper driver for a SCSI scanner. Re: [Gimp-user] looking for a gimp web designer/ freelancer
I could be of some help. I have 3 designs that I've been working on and they're almost complete. I could upload them for you to see if you would like. As for the price, I have yet to make a Pay Pal or similar account so I'll give you the design for free. All I require is that you keep a link to my website in the footer. My website is not yet up so I'll give you a link when it's finished. [Gimp-user] What happened to GIMP 2.6?
Hi all, I'm trying to switch from PC to iMac and having all sorts of trouble. Last night I downloaded a copy of GIMP 2.6 and had it running on my iMac. It seemed to come with some other application called "X11" which I can still see in Finder today but can't work out what it does. However I can't find any trace of GIMP 2.6. Last night it appeared to be on a virtual external drive, from which I couldn't create a shortcut on the desktop. Today it's vanished. Can anyone help me out here? Is there some part of the install that I've missed? ___ gimp-user-list mailing list gimp-user-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list
