[Gimp-user] Blues look purple?
For whatever reason, blues are coming out as purple-ish in GIMP. I tried drawing with a straight blue brush to test - 255 blue, no other values, and it's still purple. It's not a monitor issue, or I'd be seeing those blues elsewhere, but the colour selector is normally-coloured. I tried the same with solid green and red, but neither of them seem affect by whatever's happening to the blue colours. Has anyone run into this problem before? I do art commissions so this is kind of affecting my work. [Gimp-user] Change the UI size?
Hi, I head the same problem on my Surface Book (3200 x 2000). Following these steps helped me: From: https://www.danantonielli.com/adobe-app-scaling-on-high-dpi-displays-fix/ Tell windows to prefer an external manifest file As always, make sure you backup your registry (in regedit, go on file > export > select all > and save the backupfile) and tread lightly in this area. We are just going to add one line. 1. Press Windows Button + R, type “regedit”, and then click OK. 2. Navigate to the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > SideBySide 3. Right-click, select NEW > DWORD (32 bit) Value 4. Type PreferExternalManifest, and then press ENTER. 5. Right-click PreferExternalManifest, and then click Modify. 6. Enter Value Data 1 and select Decimal. 7. Click OK. Exit Registry Editor. If on your windows the name extensions are not displayed do following steps (for windows 10): 1. In the Explorer click on View 2. Select the checkbox for "Fileextensions" Then use the attached file or create by yourself: Therefor create a Textfile in the Folder where gimp is installed, named: gimp-2.8.exe.manifest. (Maybe you need Administrator rights, so create the File on your desktop and copy it to the folder after it) Put following text into that file and save it. --- http://schemas.microsoft.com/SMI/2005/WindowsSettings";> http://schemas.microsoft.com/SMI/2005/WindowsSettings";>false --- Now you should be able to start Gimp with normal scaling. Hope it helps, Aamer. >Hi, > >I have just dowloaded Gimp 2.8.16 and installed it on my Windows 10 - >64 bit PC. [Gimp-user] GIMP User's Manual generates an error
Howdy, I just installed GIMP 2.8.22 for macOS 10.12.5 (Sierra). GIMP appears to be working fine except when I select a Users Manual Help topic (which evidently is browser based??). The error that is returned is: The requested URL /2.8/en_US/gimp-concepts-main-windows.html was not found on this server. NOTE: this is generated when attempting to use the USER'S MANUAL that is listed in the Help drop-down, not the GIMP Online under the same Help drop-down. I then piddled around on the internet looking for the manual and found the manual installer package and according to the procedure, the contents of the package were successfully installed. Alas, something in not working right, because after installation I still get the above error message. The GIMP Online help does work fine. That being said, I do not know if one of these help methods is better than the other seeing as they both, apparently, require the use of Safari. But I would like to see that both work when one selects a particular GIMP help path.
