(1) choose pencil tool (2) click the first point (3) shift-click to draw a stright line to the previous point. If this doesn't work, please give us a lot more detail - does the beginning click make a mark? Press d to reset the colours to default. Use select->none in case you're drawing outside a selection. Re: [Gimp-user] Can Not Draw Simple Line
What foreground color are you using? What line width have you set? Try making the pencil width ridiculously large and see if you can draw a ridiculously large line. If so, scale back to a width that works. Check pencil Size, Hardness, and Force. Hope this helps. Gimp 2.10.12 will export a dds file in various formats. If you are not using the latest version you should update. Which export option do you use? see screenshot 01 The png you posted does not have an alpha channel. Is that intentional? It does however, resemble an image with transparent areas, exported to a dds file (DXT5) screenshot 02 Sorry I can not help more. I do not play any computer games. If you do not get a sensible answer from this forum in a reasonable time, my advice is, ask your questions on a dedicated games forum. [Gimp-user] exposure blending without halo
I saw a YT video a few months ago and should have saved it and now I need it. It may have been about using Photoshop but the technique should be generic. The issue is, I have two photos of the same subject (taken using a tripod) at different exposures because the sky is nice but bright and the foreground is nice but darker. There is a pretty hard line between the two, a line of trees. The video talked about how to shape the line between the two so when the two exposures/layers were blended, there were no halos and the shape of the mask was accurate. Did the video creator use something like a high or low pass filter? I don't know, I can't remember. However, once the mask was created, there were portions that weren't black so it was painted black, which was fine, the critical part was creating the edge accurately. [Gimp-user] saving DDS files
I am a new user to Gimp and I am trying to convert various textures to dds format for use in the game Skyrim. Specifically, converting them to transparencies. These are two before/after images of one I am working on. The one img is a transparent png files and the second is the result as viewed on my player. This result is the usual outcome. How do I get the img clarity to transfer to the exported DDS file?
