[Gimp-user] Lighten / Darken tool is where?
I've found most of the tools I want (color balance / lasso, etc.) but I can't find the tool to lighten / darken images, selections, or layers. Where can I find such a tool? Is it in a drop-down? what is it called? is it a toolbox icon? [Gimp-user] Lighten / Darken tool is where?
To all who replied, thank you very much; your help is sincerely appreciated On 7.3.2014 at 5:19 PM pfaoro wrote: We have three tools for this: - for the easy way: the Brightness/Contrast Tool, - for the intermediate way: the Levels Tool, - for the expert way: the Curves Tool. You find them in the toolbox, in the Colors menu or in the Tools/Color Tools menu. [Gimp-user] Correcting grainy resolution?
Thanks; I'll do the best I can by converting to a bitmap but I'm afraid vector files and Inkscape leave me a stranger in a strange land. -- pfaoro (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
[Gimp-user] Correcting grainy resolution?
Is there a (simple) way to blow up a snapshot originally take with a slow, cheap, disposable camera without having the result so grainy that it isn't usable? -- pfaoro (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
[Gimp-user] Difficulty creating shadows
How can I reduce the size of the Pencil tool to as little as 1 or 2 pixels? I want to draw fairly fine shadows, and have figured out that creating shadows requires smudging or blurring gradients of black-to-grey, but the default options in the Brushes toolbox are far, far too large. [Gimp-user] Clearing the clipboard?
Is it possible to clear the clipboard without shutting down entirely? How? I tend to multi-task to excess and this is causing me to mess up more than usual... which is a lot anyway :-) Thanks! -- pfaoro (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list
[Gimp-user] Blending 2 images into 1
My hobby, if it can be called that, is creating comic images of individuals by combining two unrelated images into one. EXAMPLE: Placing the head of my brother-in-law on the body of Quasimodo (the Hunchback of Notre Dame). I'm totally new with GIMP and I've figured out a good bit, such as using the magnetic lasso to copy-paste a selection from one image into another, but I can't figure out how to match skin tones and resolutions so the result appears to be a single image. At best, I can get close but not at all close enough. Can somebody point me in the right direction, at least to identify the tools I should be using? I'm by no means a techie, so please be gentle with me :-) Thanks! -- pfaoro (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list
[Gimp-user] Blending 2 images into 1
My sincere thanks to all of you! I think I've got a handle on it now. :-) This might be helpful in getting a handle on curves and blending (skin) tones: http://blog.patdavid.net/2012/07/getting-around-in-gimp-more-color.html If you need an intro, there's also this: http://blog.patdavid.net/2012/06/getting-around-in-gimp-color-curves.html On Mon, Aug 5, 2013 at 1:05 PM, Madeleine Fisher animatrix1...@gmail.comwrote: -- pfaoro (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list
