A good practice for maintainers of third-party builds is to have
multiple global plug-ins directories (likewise for other resources).

At least two, one for the standard plug-ins that come with GIMP and one
for any extra ones. Probably more, if sorting them into different
categories seems feasible.

Partha's version comes with many additions that you might not want, also only
available in 64 bit versions.

This is part of the resynthesize plugin.  If you are on Windows, the 
simplest way to get it it to reinstall Gimp using the builds from 
partha.com since these also include the more popular plug-ins.
