If you want a consistent start-up Setup Gimp the way you want it to start off, including the tools , brush, font, anything you like. Set the overall window size/position the way you want it. Set the docks the way you want them, default Gimp 2.10 comes with many you might not use. Go to Edit -> Preferences Set the theme and icon theme, black might be popular but it is hard on the eyes. Finally for each of the three sections in turn: Tool Options, Window Management, Input Devices. Untick "Save x on exit" and click "Save x Now" Ok bottom of Preferences dialogue. Start Gimp and it keeps those settings. -- rich404 (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list

That's since I tried tab. So problem solved? I'm not sure if this was me missing something or if there was an issue that the tab key somehow solved... How exactly did you install gimp? is this from the arch repository, or is it a flatpack? Are other things remembered between sessions? [Gimp-user] Toolbox and layer windows disappearing each time
Hi, I've got Gimp v.2.10.12 on Linux (Archlinux/Gnome) and every time I open the application there is no toolbox - neither layer window. Since I need those to be open, I open them every time but when I leave the application it doesn't seem to remember they were open. I've set up Gimp to "save tool options on exit" and "save window positions on exit" but this is clearly not helping. Any idea of how to have this windows reopen at each session? It's quite annoying to have to reopen them each time and I remember a time when the toolbox would always open at startup. -- GimpUserNo666 (via www.gimpusers.com/forums) ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
