Yes, I might have got around to scripting, but I've left this question now.
Thanks for your interest.

imagemagick (or netpbm on Linux) can automate this.
The croping, if to a fixed size, could also be scripted.

Sure, and that was my approach to date. I was going to try to automate this for
a repetitive task with something I download from the web and crop before saving
it.

A common approach would be to load the entire PDF file (all or some
pages of it) in the resolution you want, and then crop it to the parts
you want.

I thought I could display part of the page, perhaps with top left and bottom
right coordinates.
I've used a different method now.

Thanks Rick.
I have convinced myself that it is referring to a range of pages. As such,
probably useful, but not what I had in mind.

Do you have an example of the PDF you’re trying to open? Is it a multi page
document?

A link to the PDF would be helpful, but it sounds like GIMP is giving you the
opportunity to open a range of pages, that is, a sequence of adjacent pages.

Hope this helps.

[Gimp-user] open pdf with range

2019-10-25 Thread Pansmanser
When a pdf is opened in gimp, there is the opportunity to select a range. Does
this load just a part of the pdf page? If so, how is the range specified? Or
maybe it loads certain pages?
