[gitorious] Issues with CE Installer and creating users 2.4.9
I have been working on modifying the CE installer for the past couple of weeks in order to comply with coporate standards. I have at this point gotten most things working reliably, including surviving through multiple reboots. In fact, the last thing which seems to be presenting itself as an obstacle is user creation via the web UI. Sometimes, after the install, it works. But I can't seem to get it working at all after a reboot. Would someone kindly help me by giving a brief overview of the path taken once the create button is clicked? I believe this will help me run down what the issue might be, or at least where it is breaking. Due to the changes required, I'm not sure the status script is working properly, as mysql is up but it claims it to be down, the git-daemon is running but it says it is not (though it does say the proxy is running, which it is). I do get the email informing me I should activate my account, but the activation code is not valid when I try, and I get a 502 "Bad Gateway" error on the UI. I see no hints in the production.log, in fact the only thing which I see written to anything in app/log is what looks like a keepalive or heartbeat in git-proxy.log: Accepted 127.0.0.1:34681 Accepted 127.0.0.1:34685 Accepted 127.0.0.1:34691 Accepted 127.0.0.1:34695 Accepted 127.0.0.1:32907 Thanks -Chris -- -- To post to this group, send email to gitorious@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe from this group, send email to gitorious+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Gitorious" group. Thomas, Thank you but I am brain dead today it seems. This is RHEL 6 I need to go back through the install and RHEL it. Re: [gitorious] A simpler way to install Gitorious, and new project homepage
Thomas, Getting this error but I suspect this is from us using RHEL and not CentOS (even though they are the same): No matching value for selector param 'OracleLinux' at /home/cholden/ce-installer/modules/gitorious/manifests/dependencies.pp:24 on node srm-mg-git-02.intcx.net I assume I just need to make a specific file for this OS same as the centos file to get it working? Thanks for any responses. ;) On Tue, Oct 2, 2012 at 11:10 AM, Chris Holden wrote: > Thomas thank you very much! > > > On Tue, Oct 2, 2012 at 10:58 AM, Thomas Kjeldahl Nilsson < > tho...@gitorious.com> wrote: > >> Hi Chris, >> >> the easiest way to do this is probably to clone the ce-installer as >> instructed, then change all occurrences of the substring "var/www" >> recursively in all files in the installer directory down to whatever other >> path you want to use instead, then proceed with the installation as normal. >> >> We may add some options or "advanced mode" to the installer at some >> point, but currently we're just optimizing for a single, well tested "happy >> path". :) >> >> cheers, >> Thomas >> >> >> >> On 10/02/2012 04:33 PM, Chris Holden wrote: >> >> Great news! >> >> Only one question, if I wanted to change the install directory should I >> edit ALL the files that reference /var/www before I install or install it >> and then simply copy over and update the config file? >> >> On Tue, Oct 2, 2012 at 6:02 AM, Thomas Kjeldahl Nilsson < >> tho...@gitorious.org> wrote: >> >>> We've created a very simplified default installation procedure, and >>> launched a new official homepage for the project. Re: [gitorious] A simpler way to install Gitorious, and new project homepage
Great news! Only one question, if I wanted to change the install directory should I edit ALL the files that reference /var/www before I install or install it and then simply copy over and update the config file?
