It's bad enough to have it happen once. The corrupted PATH was visible both in the control panel and looking at the environment variable in cmd and cygwin. I'm not sure how long the path was, I never managed to recover it fully. Not overly long, maybe 1k. Where are you seeing the corrupted path (e.g. is it when doing echo %PATH% in a cmd window, or what?)? How long was the path before installation?
