So I made some progress here (after a rather hectic week, my fault for
not staying in vacation):

- we have now 2 internal DNS servers (gonna test and switch internal
builders, etc once I validate them, I will likely do them by small
batches)

- I start to switch to nftables for the firewall (not enabled yet, I
will announce in advance and do that outside of working hours)

I also upgraded the firewalls from the Copenhague airport last month
and proxys today to F28, but since no one complained, it show this was
pretty transparent (and resilient)

Next step is squid, then work on moving munin inside the lan, and
postgres. (and make postgres in HA too)

[Gluster-devel] storhaug, a utility for setting up gluster+nfs-ganesha highly available NFSv3, NFSv4, NFSv4.1

2018-06-15 Thread Kaleb S. KEITHLEY

storhaug-1.0 is available now. Packages for Fedora[1], RHEL/CentOS[2],
and SUSE/OpenSUSE[3] are available now. Packages for Debian and Ubuntu
are coming soon¹.

storhaug uses CTDB to to monitor the ganesha.nfsds in a cluster and
manage the associated floating IP addresses (VIPs). storhaug is a
replacement for the old ganesha-ha utility that was in GlusterFS-3.10
and earlier. storhaug may be used with GlusterFS-3.12 and later and any
version of NFS-Ganesha.

storhaug is much easier to set up than the old ganesha-ha utility. There
is a write-up describing how to set it up and use it at [4].

Open issues for storhaug at [5]. Pull requests at [6]. Ask questions
here on the lists or on IRC in #gluster or #gluster-dev.

This mail is to call out the following,

1) Are there any pending *blocker* bugs that need to be tracked for
3.12.10? If so mark them against the provided tracker [1] as blockers
for the release, or at the very least post them as a response to this
mail

2) Pending reviews in the 3.12 dashboard will be part of the release,
*iff* they pass regressions and have the review votes, so use the
dashboard [2] to check on the status of your patches to 3.12 and get
these going

Plus I have cc'ed owners of patch which can be candidate for 3.12 but failed
regressions.

Please have look into that

Thanks,
Jiffin

Packages should become available in the CentOS Storage SIGs
centos-gluster41-test repository (el7 only) within an hour or so.
Testing can be done with the description from
http://lists.gluster.org/pipermail/packaging/2018-June/000553.html, the
package is called glusterd2.

Please let me know if the build is functioning as required and I'll mark
if for release.

Thanks,
Niels

We now have a final fix [1] for the problem, and the situation has
improved over a series of fixes and reverts on the 4.1 branch as well.

So we hope to branch RC0 today, and give a week for package and upgrade
testing, before getting to GA. The revised calendar stands as follows,

 - RC0 Tagging: 31st May, 2018
 - RC0 Builds: 1st June, 2018
 - June 4th-8th: RC0 testing
 - June 8th: GA readiness callout
 - June 11th: GA tagging
