[Gluster-users] quota question

2010-01-04 Thread Konstantin Sharlaimov
Same here. We are evaluating GlusterFS as a backend for our elastic
storage service, however it is a must that we limit amount of space our
customers can consume. User or directory-level quotas would fit our
needs perfectly.

Any chances quota support would be implemented in near future?

Regards,
Konstantin

I have a perfect use case for gluster, with one exception - I need quotas since
people are paying for a given amount of capacity. Are user/group/directory
quotas currently possible with gluster?

Thanks!

Re: [Gluster-users] quota question

The only way to achieve this currently is to use quotas at the
filesystem level. Given n gluster storage servers I just divide the
total required quota for a user/group by n and set that part of the
quota on each storage server.
